Potty Training Update

IMG_6643

I posted about potty training a few months ago.  My son was ten months old when we decided to give it a shot.  Recently, I feel like we are going through the motions, but we aren’t really making progress…until today.

We haven’t put him in underwear yet.  To be honest, with the puppies, it would just be too much.  I want to keep what is left of my sanity.  So, we continue with the process of sitting him on the potty multiple times a day.

Today, we made progress!

This morning, he had a small piece of poop in the potty.  Quickly, I excitedly showed it to him in hopes of making the connection.  Instead, he started repeating the sound “bah”.

Bah, bah, bah…

Sigh, he associated it with a ball.  Not quite what I was hoping for.

Fast forward to this afternoon.  He peed in the potty and immediately got up and pointed at the toilet.  We always dump the potty into the toilet when there is something in there.  He likes to wave goodbye as the toilet flushes.  I think he’s starting to catch on.  Almost 14 months old and we are getting closer to underwear.  Next week, we are down to one puppy and I may just brave those big boy underwear…

      1. I actually should have mentioned, I did try with older two when they were around two, and neither were ready. They both potty trained within two weeks of their third birthday. So at point, with others, that was plan. Three years old. 😀
