Ranch Venison Burgers ๐Ÿ”ย

One of the greatest parts about hunting is completing the process from field to fork.  A successful hunt is a great accomplishment, but for me, the real success is completing the process and ultilizing the meat.  Feeding our family…

A big complaint among those who cook wild game is the “gamey” taste of the meat.  I don’t notice that taste with venison, but this recipe is sure to please even the picky wild game eaters.  I used a Hidden Valley Ranch recipe and made a few tweaks:

Ranch Venison Burgers

  • 3/4 lb ground Venison
  • 1/4 lb ground pork
  • 1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch dressing (powder form)
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese (or other cheese blend)
  1. Mix all ingredients and form into large patties (I make an indentation in the center to keep them from shrinking)
  2. Refrigerate for a few hours
  3. Sear four minutes on each side (check to make sure they are cooked through)

I like using the Gotham Nonstick Grill Pan for this recipe.  My husband got me the pan for Christmas and I love it.  It’s a lot lighter than my other grill pan and so much easier to clean.

It literally wipes clean with a paper towel.  Anyhow, let me know what you think of the burger.  I bet it’d be great on a pretzel bun!
