Featuring a clueless Maya and a lovesick Riley. It was Christmas Eve at the Matthews residence and Riley and Maya were cuddling in bed, having their annual Christmas movie binge watching night. Maya looked up at her fondly. The brunette pushed herself up on her elbows and sat up properly. Maya shook her head quickly. This question definitely came out of nowhere, she thought.SEE VIDEO BY TOPIC: 2 Girls 1 Choice - Girl Meets World Fanfiction - Part 1

mistletoe (rilaya fanfic)
The laugh escaped Riley in a burst - a loud noise, but a happy one all the same. The joke had long since been told, but she still seemed to find it hilarious. The hallway was vacant as they ambled down it, arms linked in a twist that sent calm to their nerves as they dodged classroom windows and ducked out of sight of hall monitors.
There had been far less good grades and fewer sleepovers. Much more studying, significantly less intense gossiping moments. All in all, though, it had been a good year. Weekends were spent pouring over biology assessments at the cafe, evenings left them curled together on the couch as the television blared in the background, neither girl wanting to be the first to drift into sleep. Life was… Life was okay, actually. They had a few classes together, and Maya had even convinced the brown haired do-gooder to skip study seminar in favor of frozen yogurt.
It was a good day. It had been a good week, and Maya was even starting to feel her expression getting used to this whole smiling thing. So prison-like.
Yeah, sure, go ahead. Rob me of my perfect attendance record. The door swung open and the two girls were released into the world, a soft breeze sweeping through their hair as they laughed at one joke or another, making their way to the shopping center just down the hill from the school. Walking into the yogurt shop was like walking into a fridge. The place was always freezing, and Maya could feel the hairs on her neck stand up, her teeth hitting together.
But the wall was lined with machines that hummed quietly, spinning the yogurt in hopes of retaining its consistency. And they have hot fudge! You have your wallet, Riles? Can you hold onto these while I go grab our cash? The run back to school was a quick one, but by the time she made it back to the shop it looked like classes had let out for the day.
The yogurt shop was pretty popular with highschoolers, always filled with gossip about teachers and students. By the time she had herded the loose five dollar bills and spare change back into the wallet a gift from none other than Riley herself , one of the students, a larger guy whose face always seemed to be stained with mud, seemed to be pushed up against the table that Riley was sitting at.
Even a stranger would have been able to see the shining blue in her eyes harden into something much darker. Her fist made contact with a heavy thud, reverberating off a sharp jawline. The keen line of a cheekbone collided with her fist once more, and she pulled back to swing a third time.
A pain, searing and demanding to be noticed, blossomed under her left eye. The way the apartment smelled like home , the bright lights that burned against her sore eyes, the way she could feel her blood pumping under the fresh bruise… It all made her want to sleep for days. Riley moved smoothly, slipping a heavy-lidded Maya onto the couch and fishing through the freezer until she found a cold bag of peas.
Riley bringing a smile that Maya had long forgotten to her face. Maya protecting Riley from the harsh, cold cruelties of the world around them. They just worked. The yelling was what woke Maya up, and in her groggy state she realized that Cory had returned home. Put myself under her fist? But she was using a rough whisper, as though she was trying not to wake Maya. Maya sat up, groaning as the bright lights of the apartment flushed through her senses.
She was too tired to argue with anyone; She just wanted to sleep, preferably curled next to Riley, until the pain dissipated. I only want the best for you. You just rush into things without even thinking, not caring whether you end up with a black eye or worse. I had to do something. The sigh that left Cory was one of frustration beyond a level that Maya had ever seen from him, and the silence buzzed around them for what seemed like hours.
When he finally spoke, he was rubbing his eyes with one hand, the other gesturing for Maya to make her exit. It takes a long time for them to learn that not everyone loves perfection. But then again, Maya knew a lot of things that she ignored anyways. He never got a chance to respond. Um… Thanks. Tagged: this was a fun prompt thanks anon!
